TikTok Shop pop up, Oxford st.
Working with Northbanks,
TikTok’s first ever retail shop! Creating a space where digital becomes physical.
#TikTokMadeMeBuyIt
Hashtags like #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt have reached over 60 billion views.
That’s 60,000,000,000!
According to TikTok, “50% of TikTok users have bought something after watching a TikTok LIVE”.
That’s what TikTok hoped to highlight when they approached Northbanks to bring it to real life.
Dunthorne Design was asked to consult with TikTok to create their first ever physical manifestation of the TikTok Shop. We worked with them to define what the purpose of the pop up would be, and how we could create a space that can showcase the huge variety of products on offer, whilst enticing merchants and creators to sign up to the platform. It needed to be on brand, and create a moment.
The resulting concept took the idea of #toks, eg: #booktok / #beautytok / #gamertok, and presented these as a product showroom upstairs, connecting them with zoned experiential spaces downstairs.
The showroom contained a main product demonstration area and utilised the video walls in the space to show tiktok shop content. A floor graphic led guests down to the experiential zones were they could get hands on with the products as well as meet merchants and going live to their followers.
If you know, you know.
Creating a privacy hoarding for the build was not feasible so the facade was dual purpose, serving as a subtle blackout for passers by, or huge in your face logo to the fans. Due to the footfall at the location the white TikTok logo was added right at the end, but the bag cutout provided plenty of intrigue to those in the know.
A further fun request was that the client wanted to livestream behind the scenes content during the install!
The project was a. success and generated a huge amount of buzz as well as user generated content.
Dunthorne Design worked on all stages of this project, from onsite briefings, to the final install.
