VM & Display show Exhibition stands.
Working with VGL, tasked with creating an exhibition stand that demonstrates a wide range of print possibilities. The intention is always to inspire creatives in the retail world, to show what’s possible with fairly humble materials. Paper, pre-spaced vinyl, fabrics and cardboard. The VM show has is a great chance to set a budget dependant brief explore a new theme.

Music Centre.
Every element of this stand was influenced by some form of musical equipment, from the obvious gramophone to the more subtle reoccurring graphic equaliser theme. The acid green colour was a custom tone produced to highlight the screen print services on offer. One element we are particularly proud of is the oversized vinyl records with grooves created by printing a spot varnish onto black foamex.

Walled Jungle.
What’s better than a walled garden? A walled jungle.
Taking inspiration from the Victorian and the contemporary, we tried to bring a sense of adventure to the exhibition hall.
The Victorians loved to explore. We’ve got lots to discover. Different finishes on the hanging leaves, a few birds, a precious monkey… The 500 leaves are double sided prints with a few special ones. Chrome, rainbow chrome, dichroic and screen printed pink, the dichroic is transparent, but changes colour depending on light, angle and background. The chairs are wrapped in di-noc, with the edges left unfinished to show this is a vinyl wrap, not paint.
The image for the fabric walls is from the V&A collection on Surface View.
The leaves and walls provide shelter and create a more intimate stand than expected for an extremely bright venue.
The Factory.
A smaller stand than previously, but with the same request to demonstrate multiple print techniques and abilities. Drawing on the success of the self initiated inksperiments project, we took a swirling ink image and distilled it into key colours. Each colour then led to an area of the stand with a service that was asked to be presented. Fabric print, glazing films, even a ‘scent station’ to demo a new range of fragranced varnishes which have been used to award winning effect on the underground.
